Ahhh…. Summertime!

I can’t believe summer is halfway over and I have not posted these cards yet!

Enjoy:

(Images on all cards are from Close To My Heart. The little Dew Drops are from the Robin’s Nest, attached with tiny Glue Dots or Zots (I use them both … a lot! The sentiment is from Hero Arts, the sun rays embossing folder is Sizzix/Tim Holtz.)

(Sun rays embossing folder from Sizzix/Tim Holtz; the sentiment is from the same CTMH set as the images.)

CTMH summer 455 best, car DSC_0378
(I cut the car out using a Spellbinders’ Nestabilities die — the only way I’d get that perfect circle! Sentiment by Hero Arts.)

I am off to CHA — the big craft show in Las Vegas. I’ll be reporting on the show for Crafts ‘n things magazine’s blog beginning in August. Thanks for stopping by!

Summer’s Here!

Friday was the official first day of summer and I’m in a beachy-kind of mood. Here’s a card to celebrate:

(Paper, stamps, ribbon, buttons all from Close To My Heart. the shells were heat embossed using Stampendous! PearlLustre, fussy-cut, and attached with mini Zots, as were the buttons. The sentiment was embossed in black. The beach scene was colored with watercolor pencils.)

Have a sunshiney day!

Sizzling Out of Summer

Summer is almost over (although you’d never know it from the weather) and the children are returning to school. But it’s still sizzlin’ here in Southern California. Time for a nice, cool drink… and another card using those bright die cuts from K&Company:

And speaking of back-to-school… and children… sometimes we parents need a little help. Or maybe we just need to know we are not alone!

There are lots of parenting blogs around today, but one of my favorites is ParentTalkToday, written by my friend, Kathy Sena. She has her finger on the pulse of all things parenting, from how to deal with childhood diabetes to what movies to see. My favorite entries on her blogs are her great stories about the trials and tribulations of being a parent! As Kathy says, “We’re all in this together.” Check out her site at www.parenttalktoday.com

Sum-Sum-Summertime!

It’s summertime and the stampin’ is easy! The dreary June Gloom has fled Southern California to be replaced by summer sunshine — and heat. Ugh. But these bright die cut cardstock embellishments from K&Company’s Citronella collection put me in the mood for some summer stamping.

I started out big and bold with this bright and beautiful hibiscus die cut: (Not sure you can see it, but the die cut has built-in glitter)

K&Co orange hibiscus

(dotted background: Hero Arts raindrop stamp; paper: Great Paper Company;  Happy Birthday: Inkadinkado; Martha Stewart punch)

The yellow flower below also has built-in glitter, but I added more with Ranger’s Stickles and a Hero Arts gemstone in the center.

K&Co bright yellow

(background stamp: Hero Arts flower grid; Cuttlebug embossing folder; Happy Birthday stamp: Inkadinkado.)

Come back for more sunshine tomorrow!
