Hats Off to a New Year!

I hope everyone had a merry Christmas … and here’s a big hats-off welcome to the new year!

Last year I found a template for these adorable hat-shaped cards. I am so sorry … I don’t remember where I found them (so if anyone knows, please alert the media, which means me.)

Here are my early attempts to create some fun shaped cards. (The top part of the hat is connected so that it opens. You can see the fold if you look really hard):

This flowery paper was a tissue-like paper that I scavenged from a gift!

Hats Off to You!

Last week I was inspired by the shaped cards featured on the Hero Arts website. So when I picked up the Spring 2009 issue of Paper Creations and saw patterns for these cute hat cards, I couldn’t resist crafting some spring bonnets.

Four hats

The stamps used (all Hero Arts) are raindrop, houndstooth and leaf flourish. The stamped flower is from Hero Arts clear set Artistic Borders CL322. The two pink flowers are from Imaginesce, the smaller  red flower is from Prima. The floral pattern is a napkin and trims are bits from my ribbon and lace scrap basket. These are all sized to fit in a regular card-sized envelope.
