Fabulous Finds Friday — Bangle Bling

This project was a departure for me, but I had a lot of fun making it, to give to a co-worker.

I used several different products to make this bracelet. I first primed the bangle (which I got a looong time ago from DIYBangles.com) with white acrylic paint on the outside and gold on the inside. When it was dry, I rubbed it with a blue Faber-Castell Gelato.

I don’t know if I needed to heat set it, but I did.

I then rubbed on some Viva Decor Inka Gold in Rose Quartz for a little shine:

Yum!

Next, I stamped using StazOn permanent inks:

And finally blinged the heck out of it using gems and Viva Pearl Pens (my latest addiction.)

It was hard to stop. Thanks for coming by!

Fabulous Finds Friday — Avery Elle

My Fabulous Find today is this fun balloon animal stamp from Avery Elle. Something about it just tickles me!

This was a fun, fast card to make. The stamp was inked in Avery Elle’s Raspberry fast drying pigment ink. The clouds were cut from Simple Stories’ Snap! Color Vibe 6×6 pad sing a Die-namics die from My Favorite Things. The sequins are from Doodlebug Design and the happy birthday is Hero Arts.

Up, up and away!

Organizing My Mists

In my continuing efforts to get organized, I decided to work on my mists, sprays and daubers. (I didn’t take a before picture, but you can probably use your imagination to envision the mess! Oh, they were in a jumble.)

Now look:

The first thing I did was put a small piece of sticker paper on the top of the bottle. Then I added a dab of the ink/spray color to the top so I could easily see the colors.
This box has my miscellaneous sprays — Maya Road, ColorBox, Mister Huey, Heidi Swapp, Stephanie Barnard, etc.

This box below has all my Ranger inks: Dylusions, Distress, Acrylic Daubers, etc. (Yes, I need to add color to the tops of my Distress Inks.)

I also have a smaller box for my Hero Arts paint and ink daubers.

Now I can actually find the colors I need! What a pleasure!
Think I’ll go mist something…

The Cat’s Meow

In my last post I featured a cute dog-reading-a-newspaper stamp from Stampendous! We gotta give the cats some love, too, right?

Such as this amusing image, also from Stampendous! (there’s a dog version as well.)

This is a simple card — basic stamping, layering, light coloring. The background was made by running white cardstock through a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities embossing folder. The image was lightly colored using watercolor pencils, lightly blended.
